A Chicago woman is speaking out after she was denied boarding on a Spirit Airlines flight over her outfit, which was deemed "too short."

According to CBS News, Tanasia Grayer said she and her sister were trying to board a Spirit flight from Miami to Chicago when airline employees confronted her over her outfit.

“We were getting ready to board the plane, and the lady at the front desk she stopped me and said, ‘You’re not getting on a plane like that,'” Grayer recalled. “So I looked at her and I said, ‘Like what?’ She said, ‘With those shorts.'”

Grayer said she was wearing a robe over her shorts and top when she was denied boarding. The passenger noted that she wore a similar pair of shorts when flying to Miami, and she wasn't confronted over her outfit. Grayer added that she had arrived at the airport with enough time to change her clothes if she had been approached prior to boarding.

Earlier this year, Spirit changed its Contract of Carriage, prohibiting passengers from boarding if they violate dress code standards, including being “barefoot or inadequately clothed (i.e., see-through clothing; not adequately covered; exposed breasts, buttocks, or other private parts)" or wearing clothing or body art that's "lewd, obscene, or offensive in nature.”

During a confrontation over Grayer's outfit, Jessica Kordelewski, her sister, was arrested and booked for disorderly conduct, according to CBS News. Kordelewski was later released, and the pair booked a flight home with another airline. Kordelewski was placed on Spirit’s no-fly list.

“I won’t be back in Miami at all,” Grayer said.
