Social media users are calling out two reporters who appeared to snub Babyface during his interview on the Grammys' red carpet.
On Sunday (February 2), video from the Associated Press red carpet coverage of the 2025 Grammys went viral after the two reporters cut off award-winning producer Babyface, 65, mid-interview to speak to pop artist Chappell Roan.
The apparent snub occurred when reporter, Krysta Fauria, noticed Roan walking by during Babyface's interview.
“Chappell!” Fauria said as she tried to get Roan's attention. The reporter again yelled the singer's name while her colleague watched.
“You guys want to do that? Go do that,” Babyface, a 12-time Grammy winner, told the reporters after noticing Roan was behind him.
“So sorry, Babyface. I’m so sorry,” the second reporter, Leslie Ambriz, said to the producer as he walked away and was replaced by Roan, who was nominated for Best New Artist.
Fans slammed the reporters for their "disrespectful" interaction with the legendary producer.
"hey @AP you need to have a serious conversation with your employees. cutting off the musical icon who is babyface and taking his mic abruptly while he was speaking to talk to chappell roan is so incredibly disrespectful and rude. especially during black history month," one X, formerly Twitter, user tweeted.
"My jaw literally dropped like that was so rude😭-," another X user wrote.
"That was so unprofessional, talking to THEE babyface but interrupting it for chappell roan?? it’s just straight up disrespectful no matter who the person is, they should be fired for that," a third person commented.
